Holzleitner Relaunch Shopware 6
A comprehensive relaunch was undertaken. Due to intricate in-house development, a straightforward migration from Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 was unfeasible, necessitating a complete system overhaul. Our team managed the technical conception, UX design, technical implementation, templating, and the entire content migration, which included 2,350 products and services across 18 main categories, 105 subcategories, 106 dynamic product groups, 16 manufacturer pages, 99 experience worlds and templates, dynamic store collections, merchandise management connections (both import and export), product exports to comparison sites, and support for 7 different shipping and payment methods along with location-specific shipping classes and additional services, resulting in a highly sophisticated online shop both technically and content-wise. We also took charge of the shop concept and design, tasked with revamping a typically uninspiring product category, like washing machines or dishwashers, into a more engaging and emotionally appealing presentation. After a brief and efficient conceptual and design phase, leveraging insights gained over 7 years working with the Shopware 5 system, we opted for a modern and timeless aesthetic that avoids extensive stock or imagery and can be easily updated through Shopware's CMS. This approach led to the creation of teaser boxes in various grid configurations that can be placed flexibly in multiple colors, with or without images. In critical areas of the shop such as grids, product detail pages, and checkout processes, we prioritized usability and maintained a clean design that encourages intuitive navigation without compromising conversion potential. Addressing article and location-dependent services, such as built-in appliance or installation services, posed a technical challenge that we resolved through a combination of article tags and shipping types. The new rule builder in the Shopware 6 system facilitated dynamic complexity management while ensuring maintainability.
