Project with LA-Z-BOY
**The Challenge:** La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Metro Vancouver aimed to attract a younger customer base and boost sales growth. Having relied on traditional advertising methods for a long time, they sought our assistance in launching their inaugural digital marketing and PR campaign.
**The Solution:** We helped bring La-Z-Boy into the digital arena. This effort included the creation of a design blog that highlighted the skills of La-Z-Boy’s in-home designers. Through social media, digital advertising, and strategic PR initiatives featuring key influencers, Jelly enabled La-Z-Boy to confidently embrace the online space. We organized a full-page coloring contest in The Province, a prominent Vancouver newspaper, which was also shared on La-Z-Boy’s social media channels. Readers were invited to color, cut out the page, and drop it off at their nearest La-Z-Boy store for a chance to win a prize package. Furthermore, we collaborated with the local WHL team, the Vancouver Giants, during one of their sold-out games, where we set up a La-Z-Boy lounge. Attendees were encouraged to relax in the chairs and search through cushions for hidden prizes, including a golden ticket that granted them a spot in our on-ice musical chairs game during intermission. The winner took home a brand-new La-Z-Boy recliner. We also teamed up with two local YouTube stars who showcased their affection for La-Z-Boy and the Canucks by creating a music video parody of Iggy Azalea’s hit "Fancy." Our 'Comfy' version was featured on Daily Hive and generated nearly $65,000 in PR coverage.
**The Results:** La-Z-Boy sought to broaden its potential customer demographic by engaging younger audiences, increase in-store foot traffic, and cultivate brand ambassadors. They achieved all this and more, with 13 times the number of Facebook fans, reaching over 4,000 people, a 22% rise in organic website traffic, 1.7 million impressions along with 4,410 clicks from digital ads, and a monetized advertorial PR value of $128,366.49.
