API Middleware Application for 2-System Connection

This project focused on creating an API middleware application to facilitate communication between two systems. Given the scale of the client, a strict non-disclosure agreement was necessary, and the application had to be highly durable and capable of extensive scalability. These factors were taken into account at the level of the hosting architecture. To ensure that the application could be duplicated across multiple load-balanced servers functioning as a single unit, we implemented the solution using Docker containers. These containers were designed to work with AWS (Amazon Web Services) scalable hosting, enabling the application to access more resources as needed. A key limitation of the middleware application was that one of the connected services had predefined restrictions on the number of requests that could be sent per minute. We addressed this challenge through a method known as 'queuing.' This process involves placing incoming requests into a virtual 'queue' and having a separate process handle these requests (or 'jobs') at specified intervals. This approach provided full control over the volume of requests processed and ensured immediate responses rather than making the system wait for request completion. Ongoing support for all application development updates is available, giving stakeholders confidence that essential business updates can be implemented without disrupting software services.

Creation of a Workflow Management System.

Helpbox Accountancy Services

Helpbox, a provider of accountancy services, sought our assistance to enhance their internal systems by streamlining business processes and preparing for expansion. Our consultation entailed analyzing and documenting the existing system's structure using a scalable data architecture along with PHP and JavaScript technologies for improved speed. Given the variability of processes and the need for multiple employees to assist clients throughout an accounting period, we developed a flexible workflow system that enabled the creation of customized services. Employees could be assigned to clients, and as tasks progressed through the workflow, they could add comments, documents, and tags. A visual kanban board offered a comprehensive overview of all client services, enabling the management team to easily monitor and filter client statuses during an accounting cycle. Additionally, we integrated a notifications feature for automated emails (using the SendGrid API) and text messages (via the Twilio API) to be sent to employees and clients at various stages of task processing, thus eliminating individual client updates and reducing administrative expenses. As the ERP system continually evolved, it generated substantial data that needed to be easily accessible. We designed a management information interface that consolidated large amounts of data into interactive reports with filtering and export options for further analysis, allowing the management team to gain a clear overall view of business operations and delve into specific areas of interest. This significantly improved the speed and accuracy of decision-making for top-level management. We maintain an ongoing development partnership with Helpbox, providing continuous support to cover all technical needs, enabling them to concentrate on business growth.

Creation of a Delivery Management System

Round Control

The goal was to develop a top-tier product that would provide significant value for businesses in the magazine and leaflet delivery sector. This product would facilitate delivery planning to thousands of addresses and accurately track product deliveries. The system was designed for efficient management throughout the entire supply chain, from inventory tracking to the final confirmation of delivery and distributor payments. A key requirement was that users could map out delivery routes by outlining an area on a map, with the system automatically gathering and listing property details within that area. However, there was only one expensive API service that could translate the mapped area into actual property information. To address this, we integrated data from various sources and developed a custom algorithm to provide the necessary information at a cost that was ten times lower than the original service. Additionally, we launched a mobile app for iOS and Android, enabling distributors to select their assigned deliveries and manage tracking—starting, stopping, or pausing—similar to fitness tracking apps like Strava or Runkeeper. Users could choose to track and send data in real-time via their mobile data plans or save the tracking information to upload later when connected to WiFi. Delivery companies could monitor product deliveries in near real-time across all routes. We also established a Round Control account, allowing users to link their business bank accounts and make payments to numerous distributors quickly and easily. Users had access to comprehensive details about their delivery operations, including instructions, reports, and maps for drivers, along with search and filter options covering everything from route creation to payment management. After facilitating 12.5 million deliveries, we achieved our goal and continue to provide support as the business and software evolve.
