We develop and operate the Ispirer Toolkit (SQLWays, CodeWays, InsightWays) to streamline database migrations and application conversions. Our core values—expertise, customer success, innovation, trust, and agility—fuel our work on more than 1,500 projects for over 1,100 clients, including Fortune 500 companies. To date, we have converted over 120 million lines of code and saved over 15,000 hours each month.

In 2019, the client approached Ispirer with a request to convert their application for web use, utilizing Java. The initial phase of the project involved converting an application with 37,000 lines of code, which allowed the client to assess the project's feasibility on a smaller scale and confirm their migration strategy. The client specified that the web client would be built with ReactJS, while the web server would be in Java. With extensive experience in both PowerBuilder and Java, we were able to devise an optimal migration strategy that incorporated ReactJS. Our goal was to ensure that the new applications would work seamlessly with the database and effectively perform the required tasks. The team thoroughly analyzed the source code provided by the client, gathering detailed requirements for the conversion to Java and React. The scope of the migration involved over 500 PowerBuilder source files from the Regress application, totaling more than 86,000 lines of code, including 17 modules from the client. During the analysis, we identified five particularly complex code segments that included infrequently used features. Certain non-standard elements were also addressed during the migration, such as the WSDL services initially utilized in PowerBuilder, which were successfully adapted to ReactJS. As a result, the client noted that the entire system operated without issues, and the performance of the new applications met the standards expected of a high-load system. The client expressed satisfaction with the project's results, stating that the quality and timing exceeded their expectations.

Customer Our client is a healthcare organization focused on enhancing the funding and clinical efficiency of hospitals and healthcare systems through the integration of technology and health management services. Their groundbreaking solutions are aimed at improving the patient care experience and the quality of healthcare services. Challenge The company faced the task of transitioning one of its essential applications from COBOL to a modern, scalable .NET platform. To achieve this, they selected the Ispirer Migration and Modernization Toolkit, which facilitates automated database and application migration. Solution During the Analysis Stage, the Ispirer team identified the best approach to migrate COBOL to C# using the customer's custom framework. In the Extension Stage, the Ispirer technical team augmented the automatic conversion capabilities to include additional statements. Thanks to these enhancements, the automatic migration of such statements is now supported and can be applied to any COBOL to C# migration project. Results and Benefits The client was pleased with the migration outcomes and returned to the Ispirer team to undertake another migration project involving several hundred thousand lines of code.

Customer A specializes in industry-specific business software tailored to the needs of manufacturing, distribution, retail, and services sectors. **Challenge:** The customer aimed to transition their Progress 4GL business logic to the .NET platform, specifically using C# and the WinForms GUI framework. **Solution:** Upon the recommendation of Microsoft Corporation, the customer partnered with Ispirer Systems. Microsoft subsequently enhanced the .NET Framework specifically for this project. The initiative began with an Analysis Stage, during which the Ispirer team engaged with the customer to understand their requirements and devise an effective strategy for migrating the Progress 4GL business logic to C# WinForms, utilizing a customer-developed framework. In the Extension Stage, the Ispirer team customized and enhanced the Ispirer Toolkit to optimize the migration process. This collaboration resulted in 95% automation of the migration using the Ispirer Toolkit. The customer expressed satisfaction with the conversion results, noting that the toolkit was adaptable to their coding standards. They obtained a 36-month license and successfully transitioned 5,000,000 lines of Progress 4GL code to C# WinForms. **Results and Benefits:** Ispirer’s solution provided the customer with improved control over their critical applications and significantly enhanced operational efficiencies in terms of time and effort. Furthermore, we successfully showcased that the Ispirer Toolkit is a versatile tool that can be conveniently tailored to meet any customer's needs.
