Interpreter & Translator Services, Inc. (ITS, Inc.) was established in 2000 by Barie Shaqiri, an experienced interpreter and translator fluent in multiple Balkan languages. The company emerged to aid refugees and political asylum seekers arriving in the U.S. during the 1990s Balkan conflicts. These displaced individuals faced complex legal processes and language barriers, risking denied asylum claims and family separation. ITS, Inc. provided vital translation and interpretation services, ensuring accuracy in asylum paperwork to expedite reunification and ease refugees' transitions. Rooted in humanitarian values rather than profit, a significant portion of their work has been pro bono. The company upholds a customer-focused philosophy, treating clients like family, inspired by the founder’s dedication and personal connections to the community it serves.
