100 Times Faster Page Display
Our client, USA Auto Online, is an online platform featuring car advertisements from the United States. The company grants access to auctions for salvaged vehicles available in the country, providing approximately 140,000 car sale listings each day from around 170 auction houses located across the U.S. Additionally, they offer professional guidance and support throughout the process of purchasing and importing cars from the U.S., including assistance with acquisition, transportation, customs, and delivery to the specified address.
How did we achieve this? The frontend was developed as a Single Page Application (SPA), which allows the page to update instantly upon link clicks without any reloads. Although dynamic, it employs Isomorphic rendering to deliver the initial page in HTML, enhancing SEO and improving loading speeds. The application follows Responsive Web Design (RWD) principles, ensuring optimal display on both mobile and desktop devices, significantly enhancing the user experience.
With the revamped site, performance improved notably; the average loading time for auction pages became ten times faster, and for more complex filtered queries, it even reached speeds that were 100 times faster. The process for fetching auction updates was streamlined from two hours to just seven minutes, allowing the site to remain current. Remarkably, all of these enhancements were accomplished on a machine with only a tenth of the original RAM and an eighth of the CPU power.
As a result of these performance improvements, we were able to process and present over three times the number of auctions to users, increasing availability from 40,000 to 140,000 auctions. This progress has enabled the owner to explore new ideas to further enhance the customer experience and boost conversion rates by 30%.
