A streamlined repair process with service platform

VanMoof

VanMoof aims to get the "next billion on bikes," and providing top-notch service is essential to this goal. The company intends to expand its network of Service Hubs and Certified Workshops from 8 to 50 cities, offering on-demand and on-site assistance to VanMoof riders around the globe. However, they faced challenges with using various solutions to document repairs, leading to unnecessary labor. To address this, VanMoof sought to implement a unified service platform to streamline the entire repair process and engaged an agency to assist in its development. Key requirements included swiftly increasing development capacity and achieving a quick market launch. INFO rose to the occasion by forming a dedicated team that rapidly built and deployed the platform, named “Fixer.” This new system grants all participants in the repair process greater control, enhancing quality and lowering costs. VanMoof identified significant potential in the minimum viable product (MVP), prompting plans for it to be utilized in their workshops and Service Hubs, ensuring all repairs are eventually managed via Fixer. The platform centralizes administrative tasks for bike technicians, enabling them to operate more efficiently and allowing the growth of new hires to be slower than the increase in repairs, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction. The tailored solution optimally supports the repair process and workflow. In the long run, additional VanMoof systems will access repair data through APIs, and the product will see further global implementation. Alongside the deliverable, we also established a dependable team and developed an effective working method for the Fixer development team, which will positively impact the transition of responsibilities to the in-house development team.

The world's first fully robotized vertical farm

Growy

Growy, a vertical farming company based in Amsterdam, aims to produce food in a sustainable and circular manner. Their mission focuses on offering local, zero-waste, nutritious, affordable, and flavorful produce. To scale this innovative approach globally, Growy has partnered with INFO to establish the world's first fully automated, zero-waste vertical farm. By blending expertise in human-centered design, robotics, IoT sensors, and data science, they co-created a complete Farming-as-a-Service (FaaS) solution. FaaS is a promising model where Growy constructs and manages vertical farms as a service for clients. They embarked on a comprehensive journey to refine the FaaS vision and provide concrete evidence for effectively building, testing, and scaling a fully automated Plant Manager. A multidisciplinary agile team was formed to develop a minimum viable product (MVP). Utilizing an AWS-based, serverless microservice architecture, they created a system that is flexible, scalable, and cost-effective. The initial version of the Plant Manager was launched in early 2021, incorporating the latest advancements in data science for AI-driven collection and analysis of optimal growth scenarios while overseeing the daily operations of a vertical farm. This technology integrates various systems to generate, collect, analyze, and learn from data to enhance plant growth. It also automates farm operations, streamlining daily work and production scheduling. As a result, Growy can manage farming tasks completely and access data efficiently and remotely. Together, Growy and INFO have created a fully automated, AI-enhanced vertical farm that is nearly entirely circular and competitively priced compared to traditional farms.

Globally scalable loyalty platform

The primary objective was to create a comprehensive platform that is robust, secure, and scalable—not just in terms of handling hosting and traffic, but also in terms of adaptability. The system was intended to establish a solid foundation that could adjust to various future demands. We suggested a technical strategy for effectively integrating the platform with their core systems and cloud infrastructure. Additionally, we redefined the system's functionality to align with international governance frameworks while accounting for local variations. Through collaborative workshops, we developed a long-term product vision focused on enhancing awareness, engagement, and customer satisfaction. Alongside various usability enhancements and a complete visual redesign, we dedicated significant effort to prepare the system for future upgrades, including full integration with the primary platform. Most enhancements aimed to empower the loyalty team to manage point distribution and optimize offer presentation. We also rebuilt the CMS from the ground up to improve usability and prioritized features to align better with future objectives. This marked the first time Takeaway.com permitted an external party to contribute to their core system. To facilitate this, INFO and Takeaway.com established a team for daily collaboration, with Takeaway.com providing an experienced product owner and stakeholders participating regularly. We implemented the new platform using the Scrum methodology, in conjunction with INFO’s ongoing scope governance meetings to track progress. During the development process, we outlined a global rollout strategy for six European nations, beginning with France. Thanks to strong collaboration and diligent effort from both teams, the new loyalty program was successfully launched in France at the end of October, with additional countries to follow.
