Questionnaire Management System (QMS)

Quality Health

Quality Health is a nationally approved contractor by the Healthcare Commission, providing services to 360 Trusts across England for the National Patient and Staff Surveys. Their operations encompass Foundation Trusts, Acute Hospitals, Specialist Acute Trusts, PCTs, Mental Health Trusts, Ambulance Trusts, and SHAs—covering all aspects of the NHS. In 2006, Inflecto took over management of Quality Health's systems, and shortly thereafter established integrations with an EMC Captiva Optical Mark Recognition system for the automatic processing of scanned questionnaires. From 2006 to 2011, Quality Health experienced significant growth, leading to substantial changes in the types of questionnaires they needed to handle and a year-on-year increase in workload. The existing systems faced challenges managing the large volumes of data and adapting to increasingly complex survey requirements. To address this, Inflecto developed a modular system that would offer the necessary flexibility to support both present and future survey programs. This new system features core functions that can be augmented, combined, and expanded by users through code extensions and workflows. It includes a Visual Studio Add-In that enables users to create workflows using a simple drag-and-drop interface and to develop custom code plugins for modifying system functionality at critical points. Such capabilities allow the system to manage a variety of survey programs. The solution consists of more than 10 subsystems and is built on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), ensuring that all subsystems work together harmoniously while allowing for scalability. The system also integrates with essential NHS systems like the Demographics Batch Service (DBS) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSIC). Over the years, our systems have processed countless NHS questionnaires.

Call Centre Management (U-WFM)

U-Source

U-Source recognized a demand in the market for an economical web-based scheduling and forecasting system tailored for call centers and sought a technical partner to bring their concept to life. Inflecto Systems developed a hybrid cloud solution featuring a JavaScript-rich web interface and a scalable scheduling layer that can operate on either on-premise servers or AWS cloud instances. The system is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, even for individuals with minimal experience in workforce management systems. It was launched globally in 2012, with Inflecto overseeing it on behalf of U-Source until 2015, when it was transitioned to a third party for further development.

Online Flow Cytometry Resource

Chromocyte Ltd

Inflecto collaborated with Professor Graham Pockley from the University of Sheffield to turn his idea for an online flow cytometry resource into a reality. This initiative aimed to create a specialized online platform to assist researchers in planning experiments that analyze cells through flow cytometry. Inflecto developed a website that simultaneously searches the product catalogs of various reagent suppliers, providing up-to-date information on reagent availability. The site (www.chromocyte.com) includes a section for customizing experiments based on the specific equipment available at the user’s institution. It also aids researchers in identifying the appropriate combinations of antibodies and control reagents, along with the companies that supply them, all through an intuitive interface. Additionally, there is a portal to other online flow cytometry resources and a unique educational and interactive communication space where researchers can access training, exchange tips, and solve issues collaboratively online. The project launched in July 2010, and Professor Graham Pockley received an award as Chromocyte emerged as one of the standout projects in the Yorkshire Enterprise Fellowship program. The website has gained international recognition, attracting over 10,000 page views each month. Since its inception, the site has continued to grow and consistently attracts visitors from leading universities worldwide. Chromocyte has also attracted numerous major pharmaceutical companies as clients, providing them with distinctive advertising opportunities. In 2012, a new feature was introduced that allows laboratories around the globe to save their flow cytometry instrument configurations online and generate a corresponding poster with a barcode. In 2019, Chromocyte was revamped using cutting-edge technologies, enhancing internal reagent management and ensuring compatibility across various devices. In 2021, chromocyte.com and flowcytometryjobs.com were acquired by Compare Networks, a biotech firm based in San Francisco.
