Humanjava is a consultancy focused on User Experience and Software Development, located on Vancouver Island, BC. Established in 2004 and officially incorporated in 2012, we boast over twenty years of experience in transforming complex digital challenges into user-friendly solutions, ranging from initial concepts to prototypes and upgrading legacy systems to mobile-first platforms. Whenever possible, we utilize open-source tools for the decentralized web and ensure that sensitive aspects of your business processes remain confidential. Our consultancy draws upon nearly two decades of work in large enterprises, including design sprints with CIBC Digital and various transformation initiatives with Government Ministries. We also collaborate with startups such as SoundHSA and are skilled in navigating government service design. Our solutions address regulated, high-stakes environments where errors in experience can lead to significant financial consequences. We embrace a "build in public" philosophy, as demonstrated by the release of seven npm packages and counting. All of our creations are made available for public viewing. On the product development front, we are creating tools that empower individuals to manage their own data. NostrKey is our browser extension for Chrome and Safari that facilitates cryptographic identity management on the Nostr protocol, while VoxRelay is an AI voice service that assists small businesses by confirming appointments, thereby eliminating the need for staff to engage in phone tag. The name "Humanjava" reflects our dual focus: "Human" signifies putting people at the heart of every design decision, and "Java" represents the technology employed to serve them.
