One of the leading agricultural companies in Lithuania faced challenges in managing their resources, inventory, fields, equipment, and payroll effectively. As the company expanded and its assets increased, so did the complexity of managing operations. Given the unique aspects of their industry, it became impractical to handle everything manually. The company reached out to us with a challenging request to completely revamp their processes through technology to automate much of the management work. Initially, we needed to analyze their current practices and propose our solution. Upon approval of our proposal, we began developing a minimum viable product (MVP) to demonstrate the potential for enhanced efficiency. We built a comprehensive application from the ground up that collects real-time data from machinery in the fields, monitors inventory levels, and tracks the tasks performed by each employee. By consolidating this information, the application enhances worker productivity by assigning necessary tasks and monitoring their output. It also automates the calculation of employee compensation, forecasts the time needed for field plowing, and facilitates easy tracking of changes when new crop-growing methods are introduced. The inventory management feature enables timely purchasing and efficient planning. We dedicated over a year to researching, developing, and refining the application. The outcome is a solution that addresses their most significant challenge—management—and enables the company to expand without encountering further issues in internal resource management. The data collected by the system provided insights into critical business KPIs and helped transform their administrative and accounting processes, leading to reduced expenses and refining their profitable agribusiness model.
