HMN Capital is an executive search firm located in London, specializing in C-suite placements for businesses backed by private equity, venture capital, and private credit throughout the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Each search is conducted with confidentiality and a focus on building relationships. We recruit for positions such as CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Chief Revenue Officers, Chief Commercial Officers, Chief Product Officers, and Chief Technology Officers within private equity portfolios, supporting them through all phases of the investment cycle—from the initial institutional hire to preparations for exit. Our clients include private equity and venture capital sponsors seeking crucial portfolio hires, as well as boards of portfolio companies tasked with finding their next senior leader. Our work spans various situations in the mid-market and growth equity sectors: from founder-led firms obtaining their first institutional funding to platforms pursuing buy-and-build strategies, companies in transformation, and those getting ready for sale. We operate solely on a retained fee basis, starting each mandate with a thorough briefing. We analyze the relevant talent market, directly approach candidates—even those not actively seeking new opportunities—and present a curated shortlist of usually three to five candidates, along with our written evaluations. We maintain involvement throughout the offer, negotiation, and onboarding stages. HMN Capital was established in 2023 by Simon Taylor, who has more than 15 years of experience in executive search with a focus on private equity. Prior to founding HMN Capital, Simon was a Director at Nigel Wright Group for six years and served as Director – Europe at Finatal, where he led C-suite searches across private equity-backed companies in Europe. He founded HMN Capital with the firm belief that specialized, relationship-oriented searches yield better results for sponsors, portfolio businesses, and the executives they hire.
