My name is Hallgeir, and I consider myself a nerd. I work at Vecora and, according to my wife, listen to podcasts a bit too much. I have two daughters, aged 6 and 9, and own four hens. I enjoy Whiskey Sour cocktails and received my first computer, a Norwegian-made Tiki100, in 1988. I built my first personal computer, an 8086, in 1990. I was slightly late to get involved with BBS but did give it a try. Along with IRC, I’ve been engaged in social media for nearly 150 years! As a child, I used to sell interesting stones I found in the garden, and my family lived at the folk high school where my mother worked for about 2-6 years. I once tried to extort money from the students by threatening them with a reflex, though I soon learned that wasn't effective. Since then, I’ve aimed to be more professional in my work in marketing, sales, and web development, which I’ve been doing since 1998. I sold my first website in that year for 14,000 kr, which was a substantial amount for me at the time, and I worked hard using Notepad to earn it. I have gained valuable experience over the years, having built brands through podcasts and various online ventures. Currently, I serve as a digital advisor for businesses, developing my own brand at HallgeirGustavsen.no, and I focus on creating quality websites and advertisements, along with enhancing digital visibility. I also give talks on marketing, sales, and social media, concentrating on how companies can optimize their social profiles and utilize social media and new technology to improve sales processes.
