When the Joyride marketing team approached us, it was evident that they already had a well-established brand with successful office and wholesale operations. They aimed to explore a new avenue: direct-to-consumer beverages, and they enlisted The Growth Shark to lead their email marketing and automation setup. From the beginning, we collaborated closely with Joyride's Marketing Director and Marketing Coordinator to deeply grasp the brand's core identity. Their mission and commitment to sustainability highlighted a profound purpose behind this beverage company. We discovered that they partnered with roasting collaborators globally to source beans directly from family farms. Each coffee purchase contributes to maintaining sustainable Direct Trade Relationships, ensuring that every premium bean is cultivated, harvested, and processed responsibly. This became the cornerstone of our creative strategy as we developed the email marketing flows and automation framework. It was also essential to highlight the high-quality coffee Joyride offers, recognized for its excellent taste while containing less sugar than many competitors. Each email was crafted with a specific objective, whether to encourage readers to learn more about Joyride's mission or serve as a timely reminder to order another bag of delectable coffee beans. Our data indicated that concise brand messaging is crucial. As our creative team neared completion of the initial email marketing campaign, it became clear that Joyride would heavily utilize their About Us page, which required a complete overhaul. Our strategists and designers then focused on creating a foundational page that reflected the brand's vibrant personality and dedication to sustainability. The outcome delighted Joyride's marketing team.

Our strategy with Hexskin was straightforward: we aimed to connect the brand with its target audience. The Growth Shark team began by scheduling a free discovery call with Dave, after which we conducted an in-depth analysis of the brand to gain insight into Hexskin and its primary competitors. We discovered that their product line was influenced by nature and a love for adventure. Dave shared a meaningful motto that guides their philosophy: "Life should be about the experiences that break you away from the ordinary." After analyzing their existing digital assets and framework, we decided to prioritize improvements in their email marketing and automation. Collaborating with Dave and his team, we defined our creative objectives and pinpointed elements to avoid, which is equally important. This collaboration allowed us to develop an email design and overall aesthetic that appealed to their ideal audience of thrill-seekers who value premium quality. Once we finalized the visuals and messaging, we set about revamping the brand’s email automation, including essential email marketing flows and establishing additional customer touch points. We think of these new touch points as extra opportunities (similar to "at-bats" in baseball and softball) to create meaningful connections with our target audience. Before we turned our attention to the product and collection pages, we recognized the necessity of developing key internal pages that would resonate with users exploring Hexskin. These included the About Us page, Reviews page, Return Policy page, and the newly branded Affiliate Program page. Our overarching strategy involved testing various approaches and value propositions over time, guiding customers through different conversion funnels. The farther they advance, the more effective and profitable the customized marketing flows and landing pages would be.

Bulldog Online

From the outset of our partnership, our creative team collaborated closely with Bulldog's founder, operations lead, and class leaders to pinpoint the brand’s strengths and significant growth opportunities. The brand was hindered by a rather unexciting website, lacking in content, a basic video library, and elementary email automation, indicating that a comprehensive brand redesign and infrastructure enhancement were needed. Given the extensive nature of this digital brand development, we enlisted an expert web developer to assist. After conducting thorough audience and market research, we devised a detailed brand messaging strategy that included new core pages and additional value. The next challenge was enhancing email marketing and automation. We reworked all email flows and created a flow infrastructure designed to guide users through an email funnel based on their behaviors and actions. This approach allowed us to focus on Bulldog's most profitable flows and ultimately expand their monthly user base through advanced customization and segmentation. Our team then welcomed a video creator and storytelling specialist, experienced with major brands like Chewy and Smirnoff. This addition enabled us to implement a video strategy across website content, engaging ads, and various social media platforms. As a result, Bulldog's digital presence flourished, and their membership subscriptions increased for both organic and paid campaigns. Working alongside Bulldog's Director of Operations, we also integrated support for social justice and LGBTQX causes, allowing us to move beyond typical business practices and champion these important issues in an inclusive manner.
