OUR STORY
Great Northern Docks traces its origins back to the 1970s when structural designer Fremont Merriam created a dock for his Maine lake house, addressing the challenge of harsh lake conditions and seasonal removal needs. Recognizing the broader demand for durable and reliable waterfront access, Fremont transformed his innovation into a family business, alongside his sons, focusing on quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. Now in its third generation, the company continues to handcraft premium aluminum docks and hardware, blending tradition with modern design. Operating from their factory showroom in Naples, Maine, they offer customizable, weather-resistant dock systems for homeowners, contractors, dealers, and municipalities. Committed to durability, honesty, and local expertise, Great Northern Docks proudly manufactures and tests all products in
