Our Journey We are Goat Consulting, established in 2016 in Minneapolis by Reed Thompson and Will Tjernlund. Our team is made up of skilled Amazon professionals, former sellers, and operators of vendor/seller central, as well as advertising managers who handle Amazon accounts from start to finish. We provide services such as listing optimization, keyword research, Amazon Ads management, catalog and compliance support, FBA, and analytics, leveraging practical retail and supply chain expertise to drive tangible growth and enhance operational dependability for our clients.

Full-Funnel Amazon Ads for Niche Product Brand

Reach International Outfitters

Goat Consulting collaborated with Reach International Outfitters (RIO), which offers scratch-off adventure bucket list cards on Amazon. RIO's product is unique and niche, making it challenging to pinpoint advertising targets since potential customers lacked established search intent for this category. Prior to partnering with Goat Consulting, RIO's advertising efforts mainly reached consumers who were already aware of the brand through branded search terms, which could have potentially eroded organic sales. We implemented a comprehensive Amazon Ads strategy encompassing full-funnel marketing, detail page merchandising, storefront enhancement, and inventory oversight. Key initiatives involved optimizing bullet points through A/B testing, upgrading to Premium A+ Content featuring videos and interactive elements, enhancing the Amazon Storefront with region-specific subpages, and creating a weekly replenishment process for FBA inventory aimed at maintaining 60 days of stock. In terms of advertising, we introduced branded terms as negative keywords, identified competitive ASINs in related categories (such as date night ideas and travel guides), expanded our reach to include gift-related keywords, and launched Sponsored Brand Video ads, Sponsored Display retargeting, and custom audiences with Amazon Marketing Cloud. Amazon Brand Launch for Design-Forward Pet Brand

Cleverpup

Goat Consulting assisted Cleverpup, a dog brand focused on design that creates essentials for dogs and their owners, in establishing their Amazon presence from scratch. Prior to our collaboration, Cleverpup had no visibility on Amazon, lacking a Seller Central account, Brand Registry, and any product listings. We developed their entire Amazon footprint from the ground up, which involved setting up their Seller Central account, enrolling in Brand Registry, and verifying the account. For product promotion, we crafted SEO-optimized bullet points, created compliant product images and infographics, developed video content for listing pages, designed a Brand Story Module for cross-selling, produced Premium A+ Content, created a custom Amazon Storefront modeled after their direct-to-consumer website, utilized Amazon Posts to repurpose existing social media content, and enrolled them in Amazon Vine for early reviews. Despite a limited budget in a highly competitive pet products market, we initiated Amazon Ads across various formats including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and Sponsored TV during Amazon’s promotional period, targeting competitors in different campaign types. Our ongoing management encompasses monitoring KPIs, continuous optimization of Amazon Ads, reviewing Brand Analytics, conducting A/B testing through Manage Your Experiments, updating the storefront seasonally, managing compliant review requests, and performing regular account health checks. As a result, Cleverpup launched successfully, quickly reaching new customers and establishing an Amazon presence that aligns with their brand identity.

Continuous Amazon Optimization Increasing Sales

Minor Decliner

Goat Consulting collaborates with Minor Decliner, a company that develops age verification scanners and software for establishments like restaurants, bars, liquor stores, and retailers to ensure compliance with minimum-age sales regulations. What began as a successful launch on Amazon evolved into years of ongoing enhancements driven by analysis of customer feedback, updates to merchandising, optimization of advertising efforts, and support for new product development. For a tech product such as an age verification scanner, it is essential to keep Amazon listings up to date with software advancements and increased ID compatibility. We continually improve product listing bullet points based on customer insights, highlighting key features and addressing consumer concerns. Our approach involves using both Amazon's tools and external software for keyword and market research. In 2024, Minor Decliner introduced several new products and features directly influenced by customer feedback we helped uncover. On the advertising front, Minor Decliner had not utilized Amazon Ads prior to our partnership. We began with a modest budget, testing various campaign types, uncovering new targeting keywords through regular search term analysis, and optimizing bids to minimize unnecessary expenses. We employ various campaign types to engage customers at different stages of their shopping experience. We regularly assess performance and customer feedback through Amazon growth tools to monitor search terms, market share, and competitor activity. Reviews, inquiries, and support messages all contribute to our merchandising and product development strategies.
