Small Office Interior Design
Geometric Architect & Interiors
Designing a small office involves more than just fitting items into a confined area; it’s about ensuring that the space functions effectively for its users. We found the project of designing a small office for 1000FiX Services Limited in Mirpur particularly engaging because we were tasked with maximizing a 300 sq ft area to accommodate multiple functional zones. Our goal was to create a straightforward, clean, and efficient workspace where both management and staff could operate comfortably without feeling cramped.
**Project Overview**
- **Client Name**: 1000FiX Services Limited
- **Floor Area**: 300 sq ft
- **Location**: 586/1, DSS Building, Begum Rokeya Sarani, Dhaka 1216
- **Project Type**: Small Office Interior Design
- **Scope**: 2 MD Rooms and a Workstation
**Understanding the Space Challenge**
Admittedly, 300 sq ft can be quite limiting when you need separate rooms for managing directors and a workspace. Often, people attempt to cram too many components into a small office, resulting in a cluttered and uncomfortable environment. We chose a different strategy; rather than overcrowding the space, we prioritized its efficient utilization. Each corner was assigned a specific function, eliminating randomness.
**Smart Layout Planning**
We designed the two small MD rooms to ensure privacy while maintaining a connection to the main office area. By incorporating glass partitions, we achieved a visually open environment, which significantly enhances small offices. The workstation was laid out simply yet effectively, with desks arranged to optimize space and allow for easy movement. Additionally, we included storage solutions that keep the area organized without adding to the clutter. A key consideration during the design was facilitating movement — even in a compact office, it’s important not to feel confined. Therefore, we ensured the layout remained open and accessible.
**Design Look and Feel**
Our design approach emphasized simplicity rather than complexity. We opted for lighter colors to create a perception of more space. The materials chosen, such as laminate and glass, combine practicality with a modern aesthetic. Proper lighting was also a significant aspect of the design.
