Founded in 1946 by Marine veteran Walter W. Gauer alongside his brother Edward and machinist Eugene Wroble, Gauer Metal Products began with humble origins, producing hotplates, bakery racks, conveyors, and early carton flow shelving. Walter's entrepreneurial drive led to a partnership with Lansing Shields of Grand Union Co., manufacturing innovative gravity-feed shelving under the Food-O-Mat brand. After Grand Union's shift in focus, Gauer continued independently, developing the esteemed Flo-Rak carton flow shelving. Walter's commitment to safety and quality birthed the V Series Deburring Machine, renowned globally for precision and the industry-standard "Gauer Bar." Today, operating from two expansive New Jersey facilities, Gauer Metal Products excels in custom metal fabrication across diverse materials, upholding the GauerBuilt commitment to durability and performance for over 75 years.
