**Client Challenge** Amid the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, the Alameda County Housing & Community Development Department enlisted FCP's assistance to help residents apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). This federal initiative aims to support renters and landlords affected financially by the pandemic. Our goal was to equip them with the necessary resources to seek financial aid for overdue rent and utility expenses. The website had to simplify the complex aid application process by providing clear instructions, eligibility criteria, and updates on funding availability. **Solutions Provided** FCP initiated the website project by holding a kickoff meeting with Alameda County HCD to outline the project timeline and objectives. A primary aim was to enhance awareness and encourage applications from those who needed help the most. Given the urgency, we were required to develop a new website within a month. Once completed, the site was made available in eight languages, and supplementary materials could be accessed in over 20 languages. To reach the intended audience, FCP engaged in advertising campaigns that promoted ERAP and the new website. All promotional content directed residents to the site to check their eligibility, complete applications, find answers to frequently asked questions, and connect with support providers. **Results Achieved** Our collaboration with ERAP in developing their website and promoting their program yielded outstanding results. We successfully reached the target populations and disbursed funds to those in greatest need. Within six months, we received 11,470 applications, resulting in $46 million being approved, with the highest numbers of applicants and approved funds coinciding with the active promotion through the website, social media, direct outreach, and ethnic media campaigns.

**Our Client's Challenge** For over two decades, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation has worked to enhance early learning opportunities for children in California from birth to age five. Their mission is to ensure that every child, regardless of their economic background, has an equal chance to achieve their fullest potential. In 2003, the Packard Foundation partnered with FCP for public relations services to support communications planning and media relations aimed at advocating for universal preschool education in California. **The Solutions We Offered** FCP recognized that in order to boost support for preschool education, it was essential for Packard’s grantees to effectively communicate the significance and benefits of early education. **The Results We Delivered** Grantees needed more than just a moral responsibility to assist children; they needed to demonstrate why investing in preschool education made financial sense. Providing preschool for all children in California represents a substantial investment, but one that promises significant returns. FCP developed a communications strategy that involved all grantees and facilitated improvements in messaging. Consequently, grantees successfully shifted the narrative surrounding universal preschool, leading opinion leaders and the public to view it not as a financial burden, but as a vital investment. **Private Foundation PR Wins** In July 2022, the law was enacted for the Transitional Kindergarten education funding bill, officially establishing universal preschool in California! The implementation will occur gradually, with full rollout expected by 2025.

**Our Client’s Opportunity** The Conservation Lands Foundation, a national nonprofit, sought a communications partner to assist with its campaigns aimed at protecting public lands, which is why they approached FCP for support in nonprofit public relations, message development, coalition communications, and media relations. **The Solutions We Provided** FCP recognized that raising awareness for the various initiatives to permanently designate public lands as national monuments in the Western United States would require a combination of strategic communications, guidance, and continuous media relations. **Significant Environmental Public Relations Achievements** In February 2016, President Obama utilized his authority under the Antiquities Act to establish three new monuments: Castle Mountain National Monument, Mojave Trails, and Sand to Snow National Monuments.
