Web Design and User Experience
**Challenge:** Zebra Technologies, a mid-sized manufacturer specializing in high-quality barcode printers and supplies, operates across various industries through a global distributor network. However, their public website, designed to educate consumers and help them find resellers, had become outdated. Regular updates to the site were hampered by inefficient manual processes, and much of the needed functionality was not compatible with the current platform. Consequently, Zebra sought to redesign the website, adding new functionality and a content management system (CMS) to facilitate easier maintenance and prepare for localization and translation into other languages. This comprehensive project involved collaboration across all departments and regions of the company over a 15-month period.
**Solution:** Flair collaborated with Zebra stakeholders to identify site requirements, subsequently crafting a content strategy and migration plan. Many functional needs rendered previous processes obsolete, prompting Flair's information architects to create process flows and page layouts to support the new functionalities and lay the groundwork for the site design. Flair's content strategists aided in implementing the CMS, which included developing the taxonomy, managing content input, providing training, and editing and writing new website content. Additionally, the Flair team oversaw the overall project management for the user experience aspect of the redesign, coordinating with the technical project manager responsible for collaborating with another agency.
**Results:** The revamped website was launched successfully, adhering to both the timeline and budget. Following the launch, Flair maintained a close partnership with the Zebra team on various ongoing projects related to content, information architecture, and development, including microsites, marketing initiatives, newsletters, continuous improvements, and troubleshooting.
