Digital State App with 20M+ users
**Our Contribution:** Brand Strategy, Customer Experience (CX) Strategy, Design System, CX Design, Naming, Communication
**About the Client:** DIIA (which means ‘action’ in Ukrainian) is a comprehensive digital state service developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. This mobile app provides nearly 80 services, including the registration and closure of sole proprietorships, as well as registering newborns. It also offers digital versions of key documents, such as passports and driver's licenses, which hold the same validity as their physical counterparts.
**Challenge and Solution:** The challenge was straightforward yet complex: the client wanted to transform a cumbersome bureaucracy into a more efficient system, making public services user-friendly, clear, and responsive. Our solution was rooted in a strategy we term the Human First Strategy—focusing on a digital state that prioritizes individuals over processes. Interacting with the government was simplified to a mere button press. Furthermore, we revamped the entire customer experience of the product and developed its design, name, and communication approach.
**Results:**
- 18.5 million app downloads, equating to about 40% of the population
- 21.7 million portal users, approximately 43% of the population
- Over 1,200 companies and institutions supported the initiative within the first two years
- More than 70 services and 12 essential citizen documents digitized
- 12 services and 12 digital documents were available in the app at launch
- 85% of young families have utilized the e-Maliatko service
- The service currently supports 1,000,000 private entrepreneurs and over 14,000 companies
