WHO WE ARE Fänas Architecture is a small architectural firm located in Boulder, Colorado, co-founded by partners Dale and Elizabeth Smith. We intentionally maintain a modest size, consisting of skilled and passionate designers. We take on a limited number of projects at a time to ensure we can effectively respond to our clients' needs. The name "Fänas" translates to both space and opportunity in Gaelic. If we had to describe our work in one word, it would be "appropriate," reflecting the ideal balance of aesthetic, sustainability, quality, quantity, and cost. Though it may sound cliché, our past clients will confirm that we prioritize listening. WHAT WE DO Our team of Boulder architects specializes in the planning, designing, and detailing of custom homes, additions, remodels, and various commercial projects. Our services encompass architectural design, interior design, master planning, landscape design, and construction management. While custom home design has been the foundation of our firm, we also pursue smaller, boutique commercial architecture projects that typically feature a warm, residential feel. Most of our client agreements are for "Full Service," meaning we are involved from the initial meetings all the way through the housewarming at your new home. A defining aspect of our practice is our dedication to listening, learning, and developing a deep understanding of our clients and their properties while exploring innovative and creative ideas.
