A global solutions partner assisting IT service providers boosted free trial requests from homepage visitors by 41%. Initially, only a small percentage of those who viewed N-able's homepage completed the lead generation form. Many visitors left the homepage or browsed additional pages without progressing far enough in their journey to encounter the free trial sign-up form. The Experiment Zone team suspected that the content at the top of the homepage was leading visitors to informational pages about N-able as a company, rather than prompting them to explore the products. To enhance focus on the products and guide visitors through the site, we reorganized the content at the top of the homepage. We condensed the homepage hero section to draw attention to the information below it and revised the hero copy to clearly articulate N-able’s offerings. Additionally, we restructured and streamlined the section that outlined the types of visitors N-able caters to, shifting focus to the product area underneath. Lastly, we changed the layout of the product section and positioned it above the social proof, making it easier for visitors to navigate the products and locate a related call to action. The Outcome The revamped homepage proved highly effective in directing visitors to the form, resulting in a 41% increase in free trial requests from visitors who viewed it. Visitors were less distracted by the visitor profiles and more inclined to view a form during their visit. Furthermore, beyond the significant rise in free trial requests, our team leveraged these insights into the type of information visitors needed to conduct subsequent tests across the N-able site.
