TechPath and Emapta

TechPath

The Challenge TechPath, which provides customized solutions for accountants, construction companies, utility providers, and various other sectors, faced significant challenges related to efficiency and profitability. Chris Adams, who became General Manager two years after the company's establishment in 1996, explains why TechPath decided to explore offshoring: “We prioritize cost savings due to the high expense of Australian labor and enhancing quality while managing our current workload. We have numerous additional tasks to tackle.” In response to increasing costs, TechPath concluded that offshoring was the ideal solution. The Solution After around a year of collaborating with an external consultant on a business strategy and participating in offshoring tours to the Philippines, TechPath partnered with Emapta for offshore staffing, which they found to be technology-oriented and suitable for their requirements. This move came at an opportune moment for the IT firm, as they had just implemented cloud-based telephone systems as part of their comprehensive corporate IT service, augmenting their existing hardware, internet, and communication services, as well as site protection and backup solutions. The initial offshore team comprised three members: this combination of technical and sales support roles at Emapta effectively supplements the company's 30-person team in Australia. The offshore Help Desk Specialists handle incoming support requests and perform server maintenance tasks. They oversee backups, manage antivirus software, supervise software upgrades, and assist in creating procedural documentation and knowledge bases. “One of our key offerings is managing services, which involves numerous service level agreements. With our team at the Emapta office, we can tackle tasks that we previously overlooked or didn’t do regularly,” Chris noted.

Case Study: K&B’s Outsourcing Journey

Unknown

Since 1959, K&B Mitre 10 has been a significant contributor to Australia's hardware and home improvement sector. In response to growing demand in 2017, the company sought to increase its workforce due to a local labor shortage. After exploring various options, they opted for outsourcing and eventually collaborated with Emapta to establish design and administrative teams in the Philippines. This decision marked a crucial turning point for K&B Mitre 10, as the offshore team now plays a vital role in the company's ongoing growth and success. By working closely with Emapta, the company successfully formed a stable and effective team of designers and professional civil engineers at a significantly reduced cost. The expansion of this team allowed K&B to provide quicker estimates, quotes, and designs, contributing to the company's growth from one manufacturing site to four since partnering with Emapta.
