Space Robotics — Product Launch

Motiv

Motiv approached Echo-Factory in search of the acknowledgment they warranted. Despite their team's substantial contributions to key space missions, such as the Mars Rover, they were perceived as minor contractors relegated to limited roles. The high costs of space travel led many to believe that it had to remain expensive. However, with the emergence of commercial spaceflight, financial considerations became increasingly important. In this "new-space" economy, space-qualified robotic arms priced at $30 million or more were deemed too costly for typical commercial uses. Motiv Space Systems disagreed, fully aware that they could offer a more affordable solution with their space-capable robotic arm system. They turned to Echo-Factory for assistance in launching their inaugural commercial robotic arm platform. We began by branding it as the xLink and created a product narrative highlighting Motiv’s past triumphs in renowned missions like the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover, including rendered video demonstrations of the platform. When our plans to debut xLink at an industry conference were derailed by COVID, we swiftly transitioned to a successful digital launch across various platforms. Today, xLink has its first mission lined up aboard a spacecraft that will produce a solar array in orbit, and Motiv has garnered substantial interest from other missions intrigued by their groundbreaking xLink technology. Echo-Factory played a crucial role in helping Motiv gain the recognition they deserved, and now they are regarded as a far more capable company, able to provide complete space-robotic systems as well as advanced robotic components.

Consumer Goods — Product Launch

LiteGear

Hollywood favors successful products, and within just two weeks of its launch, pre-orders for the Auroris surpassed all of LiteGear’s expectations. It seems to be a hit. In March 2021, LiteGear—known for its LED lighting solutions for film, TV, and HD professionals—reached out to us for help in branding and marketing a revolutionary new lighting system. To meet the rising demand for marketing, advertising, and growth, they needed assistance in achieving their objectives. We delved into the specialized realm of cinema lighting. By listening attentively to LiteGear’s dedicated customer base, we developed a thorough 138-page strategy deck to address their needs and capture their attention. One of the exciting aspects was creating the promotional materials for the Auroris launch, which included a captivating microsite, animated videos, brochures, social media content, and even a print advertisement. Our initial significant piece featured a sci-fi-inspired key image, showcasing aurora borealis lighting alongside the product to herald the arrival of this advanced lighting system. As LiteGear navigated pandemic-induced supply chain and production delays, we collaborated to transform these challenges into opportunities. One major advantage of the extra time was the creation of full 3D product renders for use in all digital campaign materials, particularly for the Auroris microsite, which became the focal point of the launch. These renders enabled us to produce striking product images, animations, and videos, including a scrolling animation and a cinemagraph of the key visual. A little over a year after LiteGear's initial contact, we organized a multi-platform live launch event for the Auroris. We circulated teaser postcards and social media updates, along with a dedicated landing page and YouTube link where attendees could register for and bookmark the event.

Healthcare — Digital & Traditional Marketing

Huntington Hospital has been providing advanced medical care to the San Gabriel Valley since 1892. Currently, it is honored with numerous national accolades, has a network of over 1,000 healthcare providers, and contributes more than $100 million in community health benefits each year. However, Huntington faced considerable competition in gaining community recognition. As an independent not-for-profit regional hospital, it struggled against larger university hospitals and national health systems that garnered more attention in the local market. Additionally, it competed with smaller regional and community hospitals that had larger marketing budgets. Huntington approached us with specific objectives: to enhance overall awareness of the hospital and to connect with those whose health would most benefit from its distinctive services. Our approach began with revamping the hospital's website. The previous site was hindered by a proprietary content management system, making updates slow, difficult, and expensive. We collaborated with Huntington to create a custom-designed website that would communicate information to the community in a user-friendly manner while enabling quick and easy updates and the continual addition of relevant content. Following that, we developed and executed a cross-media marketing and advertising campaign, evaluating seasonal interest in specific services offered by Huntington. We then created an integrated marketing calendar that aligned our communication for particular services with the neighborhoods and seasons where interest was predicted to be highest. This campaign evolved into an ongoing brand initiative that reminded local residents of the top-notch healthcare services available to them. As a result, Huntington is successfully increasing awareness of its services and reaffirming its essential role in the community. Most importantly, the hospital is now better equipped to fulfill its mission of enhancing the health of the San Gabriel Valley.
