Project Summary: Our E6B Flight Computer application transforms flight planning and in-flight calculations by replacing the traditional mechanical E6B with a contemporary digital solution. Here’s how we tackled significant challenges to improve the pilot experience: 1. Comprehensive Airspeed and Altitude Calculations: We created sophisticated algorithms to precisely determine true airspeed (TAS), indicated airspeed (IAS), pressure altitude, density altitude, and more, ensuring accurate data for various flight scenarios to improve decision-making. 2. Effective Fuel and Time Management: Our app computes fuel consumption, endurance, required fuel, estimated time en route (ETE), and arrival time (ETA), streamlining flight planning and aiding pilots in managing fuel resources effectively. 3. Accurate Wind and Navigation Solutions: We incorporated features to analyze wind impact on airspeed and course, as well as assist with navigation tasks. The app resolves wind triangle calculations and derives headings and bearings, supporting precise navigation. 4. Flexible Unit Conversions: The app contains powerful conversion tools for distance, temperature, volume, and more, allowing pilots to easily change between various units of measurement. 5. User-Friendly Interface and Offline Capabilities: Our easy-to-navigate graphical interface simplifies data entry and result viewing. Furthermore, offline functionality guarantees that critical calculations remain available without an internet connection. 6. Improved Safety and Efficiency: By automating complex calculations and delivering real-time weather data, our app minimizes manual errors and enhances flight safety, assisting both novice and seasoned pilots in enhancing flight planning and operational efficiency.
