OUR STORY
Devlo Media, founded in 1997 by Emmy® award-winning producer and director John Lavall, is a Rhode Island-based company specializing in compelling nonfiction storytelling. Initially engaged in independent narrative films, John discovered his true passion for documentaries, earning international film festival accolades. Devlo Media boasts productions across more than 17 countries and the US, including the Al Jazeera program "Witness" documentary Mind Over Battle, which explores the life of former LA gang member Javier Chavez. Partner Kate Kelley, an award-winning photographer and cinematographer noted for her documentary style and design sensitivity, complements the team with her dual expertise. A Massachusetts College of Art and Design alumna, Kate's work spans photography and cinematography for diverse clients, enriching Devlo Media's creative storytelling.
