I'm Derek, a creative digital designer with freelance experience in graphic design since 2012. My expertise lies in Branding, Logo Design, Website Design, and Digital Marketing. I prioritize crafting aesthetically pleasing and practical solutions that are also innovative. Unlike many in my field, I hold both a BA in Political Science and a BA in Graphic Design, enabling me to research and analyze design trends effectively to create strategic digital campaigns. Currently, I serve as a Senior Visual Design contractor at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts in D.C., where I produce digital and print graphics, design e-newsletters, monitor analytics, conduct website testing, create training videos, and provide assistance with administrative and marketing tasks. In my spare time, I focus on expanding my knowledge and skills through design, coding, and marketing courses, and I also enjoy hiking, researching, blogging, exploring real estate, and playing video and board games. My career aspirations include evolving as a designer, networking, and integrating my passion for design with my interests in research and politics to make a positive impact.
