Neuron, a Singapore-based pioneer in micromobility, operates carbon-neutral e-scooter and e-bike fleets throughout Southeast Asia and Australia. Although equipped with a dedicated in-house design team that understands their products and customers well, they faced challenges in meeting the increasing demands for design features. To address this, Neuron integrated an external product designer into their team to extend—not replace—their capabilities. Together, they revamped inconsistent UI elements by adopting Material Design principles, creating unified, accessible input fields and dynamic feedback systems. They streamlined the rider's experience with a focused floating panel and harmonized map visuals to serve both riders and operators efficiently. This collaborative effort enhanced user experience across platforms, maintaining design consistency while allowing Neuron to scale without expanding its design team.
