Blossom

INTRO: Blossom is a Fintech company aiming to revolutionize banking, term deposits, and savings. Competing against established billion-dollar brands that have been around for over a century, Blossom needs to adopt innovative strategies to connect with younger consumers in a sector often perceived as dull or uninteresting. INSIGHT: Research revealed a unique alignment between the values of the Blossom team and its target audience. Both groups desire improved saving habits and share strong beliefs in female financial empowerment and environmental support. ANSWER: CUT THRU collaborated closely with Blossom to establish a distinctive, warm, and female-focused brand in a typically male-dominated and transactional space. We believe that successful brands incorporate elements of novelty and convenience. Together with Blossom, we created a brand that rewards savers by planting trees in areas affected by bushfires as they achieve their savings milestones. By employing conversion-centered design, we enabled the brand to gain substantial traction at launch, even with a limited marketing budget. LAW: Disrupting an archaic industry

Open Legal

CHALLENGES The legal sector has traditionally relied on unexciting, surname-based naming practices, leading to a perception that law firms are both secure and unapproachable. Open Legal faced the challenge of creating a brand that would convey credibility, while avoiding the uncertainty and intimidation often associated with established firms. INSIGHT Small business owners expressed unease towards lawyers, particularly due to the notorious 6-minute billing increments that created uncertainty and made clients reluctant to reach out for fear of incurring charges for trivial matters. There is often a stronger loyalty to individual lawyers than to firms, revealing an opportunity to develop a more relaxed and accessible legal practice. SOLUTIONS We developed a distinctive brand identity that prioritizes innovation over tradition. The name 'Open Legal' was selected to embody the founders' belief that legal services should be accessible to all, not just to those with substantial financial resources. An Australian design element honoring First Nations people was incorporated to differentiate the firm from the otherwise uniform legal industry.
