**THE PROJECT** Renowned winemaker Jules Taylor Wines enlisted Communica to rebuild and migrate their current ecommerce site from Drupal to Shopify. Shopify was an ideal choice due to its robust features and mobile-friendly cart. A significant challenge was creating uniquely themed product sections to represent Jules Taylor Wine's sub-brands, as Shopify has limitations in this area. However, we addressed these challenges by implementing theme overrides for specific product categories and developing custom age-gate and country pop-ups based on the site entry point. The advantages of this transition will soon be evident, as we’ve added capabilities to: At the time of launch, we needed to transfer all customer information and orders from the previous platform, which involved extensive data checks but ensured minimal disruption for Jules Taylor Wines' customers. Ultimately, we delivered a stunning ecommerce site that aligns with the brand's premium image and enhances the customer experience, featuring elements like an interactive stockist map and brand-specific sub-themes. Future plans include dynamic product feeds, reorder reminder emails, Google remarketing ads, and more. **FEATURES** **TECHNOLOGIES** **THE CLIENT** Based in Marlborough, Jules Taylor was named NZ Winemaker of the Year 2021 by Gourmet Traveller Magazine. The Property Inspection Plus project represents a new business initiative for a seasoned building inspector. By taking a comprehensive approach to the marketplace, competitors, and target demographics, we collaborated with the client to create a complete branding solution that includes vehicle signage, stationery, and online presence. Our work emphasized key values, ensuring that the website serves as an effective sales tool. We designed the site’s pages with conversion strategies in mind, making sure that information about services, pricing, and processes was straightforward to enhance consumer confidence. Customers have multiple options for booking online or can request a call-back at any time for inquiries. We paid special attention to the way products were integrated into the inquiry form and included coupon functionality to enable the client to offer discounts when necessary. The result is a clear, user-friendly, mobile-responsive website. Orchid Systems, developers of the Sage 300 plugin software, approached Communica to redesign their website in order to differentiate themselves from competitors and simplify the presentation of their complex and technical product offerings. We collaborated on content organization and design, transforming their extensive, information-rich product pages into clear, user-friendly layouts that are also mobile-compatible. We integrated illustrations from their in-house artist to create a fresh aesthetic. The Drupal/Gutenberg editing platform allows for flexible layouts. Given the variability in content needed for their products—ranging from straightforward plugins to intricate customization suites—we adopted a tailored strategy for the product pages. Using Gutenberg, a versatile content editor, their team can create effective product landing pages by utilizing diverse pre-defined section layouts and color schemes, resulting in a site that is both cohesive and diverse. The Gutenberg system also adapts well to mobile formats, ensuring content is displayed optimally across various devices. Highlighting essential tutorials and information was crucial, enabling them to easily add "learn more" blocks to relevant pages and structure the content effectively.
