New Futures
CommonPlaces collaborated closely with New Futures on every segment of their website, adhering to a proven process that encouraged feedback at each stage while ensuring consistent branding and functionality. We evaluated forms and content management, implementing enhancements to facilitate easy sign-ups for updates, improved information searching, and real-time notifications regarding changes in law and policy. New Futures prioritizes equipping individuals with the means to advocate for themselves and the state of New Hampshire. We improved the navigation, enabling visitors to access the advocacy registration form directly from the main menu and join the New Futures advocacy network. Additionally, a significant portion of the site’s content is available to the public, providing news, policies, and blogs from active advocates. Keeping user experience as a top priority, CommonPlaces restructured the usability of the Events Calendar and News Section. The Events Calendar was added to the main menu for easy access, while we also developed a streamlined process for posting, categorizing, and archiving news articles, making them searchable and sortable by type and category, with integration into the site’s search function. The content management system was overhauled to establish user permissions for content authors, allowing them to access the site’s back-end in a visual format without needing coding skills. These 'builder pages' enable authors to create news articles or add infographics simply by dragging and dropping content blocks into place, tagging them with the appropriate categories. They can now edit their material, preview changes, and publish updates in real-time, which enhances the overall efficiency of the process.
