Skyscanner travel writing case study
Civic Web Media started collaborating with Skyscanner, the flight comparison platform, in 2015. We have engaged in several projects for Skyscanner's global websites, primarily focused on delivering SEO-driven content and creating appealing blog entries. Skyscanner frequently updates its sites with travel blogs, helping enhance visibility through search engines, while the articles are also disseminated via social media and email newsletters. A content evaluation conducted by Skyscanner in 2018 revealed that one of CWM's articles, "Which airlines offer the best economy classes from Australia?", had garnered over 270,000 views since its release. Additionally, Skyscanner's year-end summary indicated that another article, "Why you should never post photos of your boarding pass online," was their second most popular piece of 2018.
Strong SEO practices are crucial for websites seeking to boost traffic, particularly in competitive fields like travel. Civic Web Media has been engaged in writing and optimizing pages for Skyscanner. By crafting relevant and user-friendly content grounded in effective SEO strategies, we have been able to steadily enhance website visitor numbers, translating into increased conversions. Data from the SEO copywriting initiative shows a year-over-year rise in page visits: a 61% improvement based on a three-month sample and a 69% boost from a six-month sample of the pages we worked on. Comprehensive statistics are available here. Zoe Griffyn, growth manager at Skyscanner Australia, remarked, "Civic Web Media's contributions to our website have significantly improved organic traffic. We’ve observed better page rankings, higher click-through rates, and an uptick in organic sessions. CWM truly understands SEO and tirelessly implements new strategies to ensure ongoing enhancements in web sessions."
