New visual identity for an established non-profit
The College Diabetes Network was established in 2009 to provide support for students who felt alone, lacked sufficient information about diabetes, and desired a community. Since its inception, the organization has expanded considerably; it is now a national network catering to both young adults and students, and has rebranded to The Diabetes Link to better reflect its larger audience. With this new name and brand, “The Link” required a fresh visual identity that would resonate with its goals and inspire engagement and action. The vibrant and colorful new identity captures a sense of movement and community, while also conveying warmth and trust. The design symbolizes the welcoming experience of joining The Diabetes Link, accessing valuable information, receiving support, and discovering a genuine community, all while looking ahead to a brighter future. With the visual identity established, the organization turned to updating its website to align with the new look. The resulting site is modern and user-friendly, effectively serving as a comprehensive resource hub with various sections like Resource Hub, Peer Perspectives, All Things College, among others. The use of brand colors helps to convey the new identity without being overwhelming or intrusive. Additionally, elements from the logo were incorporated in subtle ways to reinforce the brand throughout the site. The website is resource-rich yet approachable, making it easy to navigate and reassuring for its intended audience, whether accessed on a mobile device or desktop.
