Global Application Migration & Hosting - International service, high-level consulting and scalable, managed IT services with Carbon60 Networks.
**CHALLENGE** In 2015, the Treasury Board of Canada implemented a nationwide policy regarding the utilization of cloud computing services. This policy mandates that Canadian businesses using cloud service providers must ensure that non-public, personal, or sensitive data is not stored outside of Canada. As this policy was scheduled to take effect by the end of 2015, dentalcorp needed to separate from its Australian cloud service provider. Moving forward, dentalcorp was required to store all public health record data, enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, and sales CRM, in addition to managing all IT services. This complete solution had to be migrated to a Canadian provider with suitable infrastructure.
**THE SOLUTION** As the project progressed, dentalcorp's requirements expanded beyond the initial scope, and Carbon60 provided a flexible cloud solution that could adapt accordingly. Carbon60’s service delivery framework provides a comprehensive solution, covering application lifecycle management, security, content distribution via Akamai, and deep industry expertise to effectively market their customers' businesses. Their service level agreements extend beyond the operating system, ensuring the performance of applications and their delivery to clients. Their premium service includes accelerated processing of tickets to meet time-sensitive demands, 24-hour support given the 12 to 14-hour time difference with Australia, real-time consulting services to facilitate new ownership setups, and a failover solution that guarantees business continuity with redundancies in Carbon60's BC data center.
**RESULTS** In addition to enhancements in client onboarding and overall service quality, dentalcorp has established a more structured IT department that collaborates with Carbon60’s leadership and development team. This collaboration will help dentalcorp meet its aim of integrating an additional 40 practices by the end of 2016. Other advantages include increased flexibility, scalability, and access to exceptional IT expertise and professional services, such as streamlining logins for multiple applications. The outcomes include: integrating more practices without raising internal resources, providing a smoother and more stable onboarding environment for dental practices, allowing IT flexibility to concentrate on developing advanced products and services, and demonstrating compliance and security for personal health and confidential practice data.
