"The Weird" is a 3D art project designed for a character in a card game. It features a captivating and unsettling character design, centering on an antique diver's helmet that houses a lurking octopus. The octopus is depicted hunting a small, harmless fish, introducing an element of danger and tension to the artwork. Created to serve as a card in a collectible card game, the design aims to be striking and memorable for players. The project utilized Zbrush, Maya, Keyshot, and Photoshop: Zbrush was employed for sculpting intricate textures and shapes of the helmet and octopus, while Maya facilitated the overall layout and design of the scene. Keyshot added realistic lighting and materials, enhancing the visual appeal, and Photoshop was used for final color adjustments. The result is a meticulously detailed and visually captivating piece that sparks the imagination and evokes feelings of discomfort. The incorporation of the vintage diver's helmet adds a nostalgic and historical touch, while the octopus symbolizes the formidable and perilous nature of the deep sea. Ultimately, "The Weird" exemplifies a perfect fusion of technical expertise and artistic creativity, resulting in an unforgettable character design.

WW2 Battle Of Beersheeba

Effective Animations

We take pride in contributing to the second installment of The Cove's Australian Army Battle Honours Series, featuring a detailed animated representation of Australia's role in the Battle of Beersheba. This project allowed us to explore an engaging historical event, reconstructing the significant charge undertaken on October 31, 1917, by the 4th Light Horse Brigade. Our task involved reviving the past and transforming textual history into a visual masterpiece. We worked closely with Effective Animations to vividly narrate the audacious horseback charge that captured the vital town of Beersheba from the Ottoman Empire. This crucial event signaled the beginning of the end of Ottoman rule in Palestine and stands as a noteworthy chapter in Australian military history. Our team focused on designing and executing 3D art and VFX elements to enhance the video's realism and cinematic appeal. We meticulously recreated the environment, costumes, weaponry, and the spirit of the period. Additionally, we handled the explosive effects and the breathtaking spectacle of the cavalry charge itself. Throughout the video's creation, we prioritized historical accuracy, with our artists and technicians dedicating themselves to thorough research based on records and accounts to authentically depict the EEF's advance, the capture of Gaza, and the bold assault on Beersheba.

Bohdi and Ride Virtual Trainer

Oceanic Studios

Canopy Creative, in partnership with Oceanic, undertook the development of the "Bodhiand Ride Virtual Trainer Proof of Concept." This two-month project was a pioneering effort aimed at creating an innovative virtual trainer that leads users through five levels of spin cycling classes, from warm-up to sprinting. Designed for Bodhi and Ride, located in Melbourne, Australia, this initiative showcases our expertise in motion capture animation, game development, and language localization. Central to the virtual trainer's creation were our advanced motion capture and facial lip-sync technologies. By utilizing Move.ai, we accurately mirrored the movements of professional spin instructors for the animation. We then combined this with Realusion's facial lip-sync software to deliver an immersive and interactive training experience that closely resembles real-life instruction. Our responsibilities included meticulously planning and programming each level of the spin cycling classes to ensure they reflected the true intensity and complexity of actual spin sessions. We also managed the design and creation of the avatar, along with the final editing, post-processing, and integration of the animations into the application for use at the South Yarra Bodhi and Ride location. The final outcome is a cutting-edge interactive Proof of Concept that offers users a personalized spin cycling class experience from the comfort of their homes. This project highlights our dedication to leveraging innovative technology to craft engaging and accessible digital experiences that transcend geographical limitations. Once again, our collaboration with Bodhi and Ride reflects our skill in developing high-quality, immersive digital solutions.
