OLB - Shaping safe Behavior for Bonaire
In partnership with Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire (OLB), we launched “Shaping Safe Behavior for Bonaire,” a comprehensive public safety campaign aimed at promoting awareness around traffic safety, responsible drinking, and adherence to local laws. Rather than using generic or authoritative messaging, we created a series of fictional, culturally relevant ambassadors, each with their own distinct logo and character. This approach allowed the campaign to connect more personally with various target audiences, making the messages more relatable and community-focused. The initiative spanned both digital and physical platforms to ensure consistent visibility across the island. Various methods, including social media storytelling, radio commercials, street events, taxi partnerships, merchandise, billboards, posters, supermarket displays, and airport flyers, collaboratively reinforced essential safety messages. This multi-channel strategy enabled us to engage residents in their daily lives, enhancing overall involvement and effectiveness. By integrating branding, behavioral design, and insights from local culture, the project effectively turned awareness into actionable behaviors. The use of character-driven narratives simplified complex or sensitive issues while deepening the community’s connection to the campaign. “Shaping Safe Behavior for Bonaire” exemplifies successful social impact branding, effective public communication, and cohesive campaign design, demonstrating how intentional storytelling and design can motivate safer decisions throughout the community.
