Public Transportation Management Platform
A logistics industry client sought assistance in developing a platform to manage public transportation. Our objective was to create a centralized system for overseeing transportation through a mobile and desktop application. We faced the challenge of ensuring high performance for numerous simultaneous users and real-time functionality. The project was led by a team of experts proficient in Android app development using C++, QML, and QT. This specific technology mix was customized to meet the existing systems and requirements. The foundation of the project involved establishing a network for the new application. We introduced features based on client needs, including navigation along designated routes, driver sobriety tests, and a passenger information system. Throughout the process, we conducted tests to verify operational accuracy and incorporated enhancements. We successfully delivered a platform for the administration, maintenance, and updates of public transport in urban areas. The application functions consistently on both phones and Linux-based computers. Our solution facilitates communication between the central system, drivers, and passengers. It integrates with bus hardware to ensure effective communication with passengers, providing text and voice alerts such as stop announcements, route directions, and line numbers. The control panel allows for real-time route modifications, ensuring that useful and accurate information remains accessible to drivers and passengers even during unexpected events. The system can also connect to hardware like bus sensors or breathalyzers. The architecture supports the addition of new features, and the use of C++ guarantees system efficiency. Enhancements to security include an automated ignition interlock that activates if the breathalyzer indicates driver intoxication. Additionally, our audio-visual passenger information system improves the public transportation experience.
