Bonsai's (now Auric) Strategic Pivot to B2B
Bonsai initially aimed to enhance its B2C product lineup by adding useful new app features that could boost daily user engagement and create additional revenue opportunities. However, they faced a highly saturated market with intense competition and waning differentiation. It was crucial for them to quickly determine their growth direction. To address this, we initiated a five-day AI-driven research sprint.
1. Comprehensive Market Analysis: We analyzed competitors (both local and global), alternative products, customer feedback (ranging from online reviews to academic studies), regulations, and social trends, providing us with a complete understanding of Bonsai's market environment.
2. Concept Generation and Selection: Based on our research, we developed over 30 product ideas, which we then assessed for feasibility and viability, ultimately narrowing it down to a top 10 list.
3. Validation through Synthetic Research: Using synthetic personas, we evaluated the desirability of the leading ideas, simulating how potential users would react. This process led to a validated combination of features and a pricing strategy specifically designed for the fintech audience.
During the research, we discovered a significant insight: the greatest growth potential lay not in B2C, but in B2B. There was considerable demand for white-label financial solutions, particularly within the sports and entertainment sectors.
As a result, Bonsai shifted its focus from B2C to B2B and introduced a new brand: Auric. One year later, Auric has secured substantial B2B contracts and is growing at an unprecedented rate, far exceeding what was achievable in their previous market. Brandsome continues to be their trusted partner for market strategies and is proud to have contributed significantly to their future success.
