Box Clever is a renowned web design firm located in Edmonton, Alberta. Our focus is on building strong relationships with our clients while creating exceptional websites. What began as a partnership between two brothers in 2005 has grown into a company that offers comprehensive systems and services tailored to provide user-friendly websites that our clients love. We developed our own content management system, WebGuide, which allows clients to manage their content independently and effortlessly. It’s so user-friendly that even first graders were able to publish online for Alberta’s Centennial without any prior training (it's a fascinating story; feel free to ask us about it). The Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation (AIOC) is a crown corporation established by the Government of Alberta to connect Indigenous groups with commercial partnerships in the natural resources sector while enhancing their financial capacity. Our team had the exciting task of developing AIOC's inaugural website and brand identity. While the primary objective was to create a visually appealing custom website and brand, AIOC also needed a quick placeholder website. We successfully launched a temporary site for AIOC within just one week, providing an online presence for interested groups and addressing their basic inquiries as we worked on the comprehensive site. This early launch afforded both our team and AIOC the necessary time to thoughtfully craft their brand and develop a fully-featured, custom website. We established a strong, consistent visual identity that reflects AIOC's mission, thoughtfully integrating elements that embody Alberta’s Indigenous culture alongside its natural resource initiatives. A standout feature of the AIOC website is a set of custom illustrations designed by our team, which highlight the various natural resources supported by their funding. These illustrations not only function independently but also combine in a graphic that represents a vibrant Indigenous community at the footer of the homepage. They can be utilized throughout the site and in any branded materials. Thanks to our expertise, we successfully created a stunning custom website and visual identity that will enable AIOC to connect with Indigenous groups interested in investing in Alberta's natural resource sectors.

gravitypope Website

In 2015, gravitypope aimed to revamp their ecommerce platform. As a trendsetting market leader, it was essential for their website to embody their brand, attitude, and style. However, being a trendsetter alone wasn't sufficient; the online shopping experience had to be impeccable. Having faced challenges with previous ecommerce solutions, gravitypope wanted to provide their customers with an excellent online shopping experience, free from glitches, performance issues, and downtime. Box Clever successfully addressed these needs. Our designers collaborated closely with gravitypope’s team to create an online shopping experience that resonated with their brand identity. Every page was meticulously designed with the customer in mind. As a Shopify partner, Box Clever utilized Shopify’s platform to offer a fantastic experience for gravitypope's customers while equipping the gravitypope team with the necessary tools to manage their online store. Not only did Box Clever create an aesthetically pleasing design, but we also provided a technically innovative solution. During the site’s initial launch, we migrated thousands of products from the old ecommerce platform to gravitypope’s new Shopify site, a process that required extensive data manipulation and scripting for accuracy. Following the launch, Box Clever developed a custom integration linking gravitypope's in-store inventory management system with Shopify, enabling real-time inventory updates for the online store and ensuring that customers could only purchase items that gravitypope could fulfill.

Town of Drumheller Website

Town of Drumheller

In 2020, the Town of Drumheller undertook a rebranding initiative and sought a new website to complement these efforts. They needed a website that showcased their updated branding, was user-friendly, and easy for administrators to update. Previously, Drumheller's website was hard to navigate and challenging to manage. The town recognized that the website was a key tool for engaging with both current and prospective residents, and it needed to align with their communication goals. The ideal site would portray Drumheller as the vibrant and distinctive community it truly is. This was successfully accomplished with their custom, high-functioning website, which features the new logo, branding elements, textures, and graphics. Key information such as popular links, news, and events can be accessed directly from the homepage, a search bar is prominently displayed for easy content retrieval, and the menu is user-friendly. Additionally, animations throughout the site help convey the town's character. We thoroughly enjoyed this project and are thrilled to collaborate with Drumheller!
