Brand and website design refresh

ACEVO

ACEVO supports leaders in civil society and recognized the need to refresh their brand and website. Their previous design had been around for many years and no longer met their contemporary requirements. It failed to embody their values, user experience aspirations, or technical capabilities. They sought new designs to showcase their ambitions and enhance the delivery of their services. Above all, they aimed for a bold, energetic, and vibrant appearance that aligned with their evolving positioning. To address this, we revamped their brand, evolving the logo and introducing an eye-catching new visual style. The core of the brand included impactful typographic statements intended to evoke thought and emotions, rather than using passive graphics. This approach aligned with their focus on support and advocacy. To provide contrast, these typographic elements were paired with images of real people, creating a striking combination of text and photography. Additionally, we redesigned the entire website to align with the new brand, collaborating with DigitalGarden for development and technical implementation. Our role emphasized design, encompassing planning, conceptual ideas, and an iterative process to perfect the details. After finalizing the style, we worked with DigitalGarden to ensure the design was effectively implemented using WordPress. The outcome has been highly successful for ACEVO, enabling them to better define their identity in the market and facilitating organizational growth over the past few years.

Brand and website design update

VIVA Financial Tuition

VIVA was in the process of developing a training platform aimed at making high-quality accountancy education available to everyone. **Challenge** They intended to revamp their brand to align with new course offerings and establish a complementary online presence. Although they had already hired a web developer, they required assistance in defining the overall creative direction, particularly regarding the visual identity. Their goal was to create a visual brand that was bolder, more fun, and lively, while still conveying experience and expertise. Essentially, they wanted to inject some energy into their brand without losing their foundational essence. **Solution** The project began with the creation of mood boards to investigate potential brand tones that reflected their aspirations. This facilitated the development of logo design concepts, which went through a process of selection, refinement, and iteration. Once the logo design was agreed upon, the next phase involved exploring color and font options to establish a cohesive visual identity. With the foundational elements in place, we then created various web design concepts that were broad and iterative, helping to set the overall creative direction (the complete website design was outside my project scope). Following the website's creative direction, we turned our attention to branding VIVA’s social media profiles, which included designing header images for LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. **Impact** Once all creative components were completed, we finalized the digital elements for handover, which included a straightforward brand guide, the final logo artwork, and essential brand images.

Custom website design for business launch

Experience First Events

Experience First, a startup in the hospitality sector, aimed to attract large corporations. As a result, the founder deemed it essential to have a professional, purpose-built website since growth was hindered by their original DIY site. They approached us to create a custom website for their full launch, with two primary objectives. Our solution involved not only a uniquely crafted visual style but also a tailored event setup to meet their specific requirements. Individual events are managed using a custom post type via the ACF plugin, enabling them to be integrated as sections within topic pages. Additionally, the main events calendar was set up to pull information from the client's Outlook calendar and display it on the website's Calendar page. This feed also updates the ‘Upcoming dates’ section on various event pages. The development was carried out in collaboration with digitalgarden.co, a trusted partner for our WordPress projects. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, successfully presenting themselves as a well-established business from the outset. Without this customized strategy, they would be constrained by their original DIY website, which was limiting their growth. Our objective was to ensure the website’s design was on par with or superior to their competitors, and the client believes we accomplished that.
