This project involves the creation of an iOS mobile application and a web application utilizing the Symfony framework. The objective is to enhance the follow-up care for patients in the anesthesia department of Foch Hospital's maternity ward. We were tasked with developing a digital tool that facilitates this process and also allows for retrospective data analysis. Previously, all childbirths were documented in a physical notebook, which made accessing historical data from the past year very difficult. To navigate this complex environment, we first needed to grasp how doctors manage patient follow-ups and what tools they currently employ. Collaboration with the information systems division was essential to address several key questions prior to initiating the application's technical design. Important considerations included the database's storage location and the hospital's network coverage. Given that doctors often operate in emergency situations, we aimed to create a portable solution. We designed a robust set of tools intended to simplify the workflow for doctors. This included a native iOS mobile application that integrates with a Symfony web application. The mobile interface is interactive, allowing for the creation, review, and updating of patient information, and it enables real-time online documentation of anesthesia procedures conducted in the maternity ward, such as epidural analgesia or Caesarean sections. To prevent database connection issues, we established an asynchronous transmission system, and we also incorporated an offline mode in the mobile app. When the device reconnects to Wi-Fi or 4G, it uploads the data saved on the iPhone to the hospital database. The web application offers statistical insights and reporting capabilities, featuring various advanced functions aimed at enhancing maternity care quality and gauging the satisfaction of recent mothers.
