Mark Hill - Style Addict Range

A quick look around a Boots store reveals the striking pink and orange branding of Mark Hill. Over time, they have gained recognition for this bold color scheme and their trend-setting approach. We teamed up with Mark Hill after winning a three-way pitch in August 2018, thanks to our thoughtful respect for the existing brand and our research that highlighted the significant brand equity Mark Hill had built over the years. Our task was to envision a refreshed brand identity and design new packaging that would modernize their image and foster stronger connections with customers. In this initial presentation, we highlight the Mark Hill Style Addict range, which represents their everyday products. We chose new colors and developed a novel gradient/ombre style, allowing for a collection of fluid ombres that can be endlessly adjusted to showcase various flows of the same hues, adding a more dynamic visual appeal to their brand and packaging. Next, we tackled typography and the label systems, aiming to create a typographic label system that could adapt to different sizes, formats, and materials while maintaining coherence and immediate recognition on store shelves.

After establishing the brand and designing their website, our next step was to produce the crucial printed annual catalog featuring all their products, along with articles discussing potential industry changes anticipated in the coming year.

A successful recruitment consultancy aimed to rebrand itself, including a name change and a new business model, in order to distinguish itself from traditional competitors in a saturated market. They sought to overcome the negative perceptions often associated with recruitment agencies. Originally named Knowit, they had contemplated a name change for some time but found it challenging to meet their comprehensive criteria: it needed to differ from competitors, be four syllables or fewer, be suitable and generic, be easy to spell and pronounce, be enjoyable to use, and be legally protectable. From past experiences, we understood that locating a unique name with available domains could be a daunting task. The new identity visually represents the brand’s essence—it's bold, confident, and honest. It sets itself apart, embracing a unique identity without following others. We developed a brand that isn't defined by any single color, captures the viewer's attention, and consistently conveys the brand’s message, mission, and spirit.
