Beacon's latest marketing outcomes have surpassed expectations. We consistently met all the benchmarks established by Ellie, concentrating on essential factors such as user experience, SEO, and specific targets for enhancing client conversions. Beacon has achieved our most ambitious milestone to date—surpassing 100,000 monthly users ahead of the second-quarter timeline. As this project is far from complete, our team is actively seeking additional ways to optimize the website effectively and efficiently to fulfill any new objectives set by the client. OVERALL OBJECTIVE: ENHANCED CONVERSION RATES The previous website did not implement optimal UI/UX best practices, making it difficult for users to access and find the information they needed, which ultimately resulted in poor conversion rates. To improve user experience and increase conversions, we completely redesigned the Ellie website, prioritizing UX design. We considered every aspect of the user's digital journey, addressing queries such as: Can I easily make an appointment? And where is my nearest location? We successfully eliminated any obstacles that might have hindered Ellie from swiftly accessing what they required. As anticipated, this effort proved to be highly effective! The optimization led to a 121% increase in traffic and boosted conversion rates to 7.6%, nearly doubling the previous rates.

New Brand, Website and Marketing Plan

The first change we made was to the logo. The old design featured a target and had a very masculine, somewhat intimidating, and aggressive feel. We created a new logo in red and gray that showcases interlocking A and T letters for Alaska Tactical, set within a square. This new symbol conveys the strength and confidence of firearms training while being more approachable than the previous version. This initial change influenced all subsequent updates to the website's design. We also revised the website's text, focusing on crafting new key messaging and creating content aimed at improving search engine optimization (SEO). We wanted to clearly convey that Alaska Tactical is the premier provider of gun safety courses in Anchorage, a family-owned business catering to students of all skill levels, and that the skills taught could potentially save lives. The updated web design uses a lot of imagery to slightly soften the Alaska Tactical brand and make it more inviting to a wider audience. We implemented red subheadings to help highlight important information for easier navigation and presented content in digestible segments. From a web development standpoint, we prioritized transforming the Courses section of the site. We organized it into an interactive list with icons that enlarge upon hovering, enhancing user engagement. Each course has its own dedicated page with a brief summary of what students can expect, what items they should bring, and guidance on how to enroll.
