Full sensory experience in Tokyo: Together X
Battle Royal Studios crafted and executed a comprehensive multi-sensory brand experience for 1,600 guests from around the world in Tokyo, celebrating a decade of a client’s product. The initiative encompassed everything from creative ideation and spatial design to construction, technical production, and event management, all within a custom 10,000m² temporary venue next to TeamLAB Planets in Tokyo. This venue was constructed from the ground up within six weeks, following ten months of meticulous planning, with Japan's earthquake-resistant building regulations significantly extending the usual European planning timeline. BRS oversaw every aspect, including arrangements for guests and VIP artists, spatial design across various immersive sections, and coordination with international suppliers from Japan, France, and Germany. The experience invited guests to explore five sensory areas that engaged taste, sight, sound, touch, and smell. Notable features included the Flavour Cloud, an atmospheric dome filled with dynamic light displays and laser shows mimicking a floating aurora borealis, and a gamified digital companion that acted as both an experience navigator and Flavour Passport, enabling guests to collect sensory stamps from different zones. Live entertainment featured a surprise performance by Steve Aoki and a collaborative freestyle session with Japanese rap artist Awich. Additionally, guest photos uploaded during the event were showcased in real-time on a 16-meter LED wall. Battle Royal Studios managed everything from creative direction and spatial architecture to multisensory design, motion and lighting arrangements, interactive digital installations, full technical production, artist management, and live event oversight across a 5,000m² guest area.
