Supply chain and logistic platform for gas industry, TX, US
A web-based logistics platform has been developed to automate the delivery of materials for the oil and gas sector in Texas, USA. It functions similarly to Uber, but instead of transporting passengers, it moves materials such as proppant, water, and chemicals. The client's objective for this project is to facilitate the extraction of gas from well sites, which requires a rapid and consistent supply of a specific type of sand. This sand is injected into the well and detonated to free the gas. If there is a shortage of sand, the entire operation halts, resulting in substantial financial losses. The platform ensures the timely delivery of the necessary materials. Currently, the platform services thousands of users, including drivers, carriers, customers, and owners of both materials and well sites. Its contribution to revenue for all participants involved in the fracturing process is estimated to be in the millions of dollars, and it remains operational. The development process included: 1. Server infrastructure using Node.js on AWS as the cloud provider; 2. Front-end development using React (16.x) and Angular; 3. Mobile applications created with Objective-C, Swift, and Java/Kotlin; 4. A security evaluation including penetration testing and a quality assurance process.
