Delta College Ducks mascot and identity design

Delta College

Delta College, a prominent community college located near Bay City, MI, has been referred to as "The Pioneers" since it opened in 1961, but it never had an official mascot. Recently, the college rebranded itself as "The Ducks" and sought our assistance in developing a mascot and a strategic brand. The students at Delta are looking for a sense of community and identity. Our objective was to create a mascot that resonates with students, faculty, administration, and alumni, acting as a unifying symbol that captures Delta’s pioneering spirit. By collaborating closely with Delta's Marketing Director, we developed a strong brand identity based around a well-defined character. This character comes with a backstory, personality traits, and situational roles that motivate students to embrace and showcase their inner Duck, regardless of where they go next.

Ninth Edge

Ninth Edge, a leadership training firm located in Chicago, caters to prestigious clients including Abbott, Abbvie, Billtrust, CME Group, Conagra, Discover, Heitman, Optiver, and Steel Dynamics. Renowned for their engaging and empathetic methods, Ninth Edge is skilled at promoting constructive discussions that enhance workplace culture. Although they have been in operation for 22 years, they previously did not have a marketable brand identity. They collaborated with us to develop a strategically aligned brand identity system focused on the overarching theme of "improved leadership through enhanced conversations." By working closely with the partners, we helped them define their target audience, clarify their market position, articulate their unique selling points, and create a unified and recognizable brand image. This new identity emphasizes Ninth Edge's unique character and brand commitment.

The 'you can' campaign focuses on overdose awareness and harm reduction, specifically aimed at vulnerable groups. Its objective is to inform people about the risks associated with fentanyl and to provide them with practical methods for reversing overdoses. 'you can' equips users with the necessary knowledge and assurance to utilize these methods during overdose incidents, which can help save the lives of their loved ones. While it's not possible to prevent someone from using drugs, you can prevent them from dying.
