Evie Books offers a comprehensive accounting and billing solution that includes inventory management, tax synchronization, and reporting capabilities. The project was delivered to us in a fragmented and unstable condition following the departure of the previous team. Our objective was to stabilize, enhance, and develop the system into a solid financial platform.
**Challenges**
- An unstable codebase with malfunctioning billing and tax features
- SQL query bottlenecks hindering dashboard performance
- Outdated and incomplete reporting user interface
- Subscription issues allowing lower-tier users to access premium features
**Approach**
We initiated a thorough audit of the codebase to understand dependencies and pinpoint areas requiring immediate attention. The system was reorganized to comply with accounting best practices. SQL queries were fine-tuned for better performance, and bugs related to billing and reporting were addressed. Additionally, we expanded functionalities, revamped inventory processes, and improved reporting features.
