Pânsâwân
We developed this brand and packaging idea for Pânsâwân, one of the pioneering businesses to commercially offer First Foods from Canada. What we appreciate about the Pânsâwân brand is its artistic flair and deep-rooted traditions. The kraft packaging, teepee imagery, Cree syllabics, and the buffalo symbolize not just the product but also a significant aspect of history. For the Cree people, Pânsâwân (“bahn-sa-wan”) represents the endurance through the long, severe winters of Canada. Following a successful hunt, the tribe prepared Pânsâwân by slicing lean buffalo meat into thin strips and smoking them for hours, which gives it a rich, unique flavor. Pânsâwân is committed to honoring and preserving traditional Native American products, working diligently to ensure authenticity. We say, “Before Jerky, There Was Pânsâwân,” but Pânsâwân is quite different from jerky. It’s 100% natural, containing no preservatives, added sodium, or hormones—just pure ingredients. In fact, it consists of only two components: bison and smoke. It’s an incredibly dehydrated, natural superfood packed with protein and iron. It's wonderful to contribute to Pânsâwân’s storytelling.
