In every country or region, including the European Union, local markets maintain their own lists of certified security systems suitable for high-value objects, businesses, and buildings. These systems must receive certification from national or regional authorities before they can be implemented in existing or new structures. Our client requested assistance in integrating their system with a newly certified burglar alarm security system. This required us to connect their current integrated security system, used by the office security team, with this new system. We encountered two major challenges: first, the vendor did not offer any external integration options for their security system; second, there was a requirement to monitor events and signals that needed to be transmitted to the police department via secure communication channels. Additionally, our client is a bureaucratic organization that requires multiple levels of approval for any technical solutions, along with the necessary internal certifications.

Our client is a global provider of security systems integration. They deliver comprehensive security solutions tailored to a wide range of clients, from nuclear facilities to international banks. Recently, the client decided to create an advanced integrated security system that would unify all standalone security subsystems. With partnerships with numerous leading security system manufacturers, the client is well-versed in their products and aims to recommend optimal solutions by leveraging the strengths of different security systems for each new client or project. Occasionally, integrating disparate security systems is necessary, even when there are no readily available SDKs or APIs. The client has a highly skilled internal software development team but has opted to engage a dedicated offshore team for the creation of new software, while relying on their own team for ongoing support. A critical requirement for the new team was demonstrated expertise in software development within the security systems domain. Having had positive experience working with our company previously, the client selected us as their strategic partner for this project. Our client is a well-established construction holding company based in Eastern Europe, which has a division specializing in the manufacturing of security systems. They offer complete turnkey solutions for access control and fire alarm systems. The client’s primary focus is on developing comprehensive hardware solutions that cover the entire process, from initial design and hardware architecture to manufacturing, sales, and post-sale support. A key advantage of this client is their highly skilled firmware development team, which boasts over 30 years of experience. Today's access control systems consist of a wide range of software modules that perform various functions beyond simply granting access to specific individuals in designated areas. Most of these modules are implemented at the software level, enhancing the hardware access control system's capabilities while interfacing with various peripheral devices. The system includes visitor management (for regular and temporary passes), vehicle access control (covering contact, manual, and automatic modes), a checkpoint for managing visitors and vehicles, a reporting system for tracking employee hours and timesheets, integration with biometric devices, the production and printing of access admissions, and much more. Additionally, the system allows for integration with third-party systems for sending reports to ERP, CRM, and XMR platforms, as well as receiving information and administration support from a higher-level integrated security system. It can also integrate with other security subsystems, such as displaying video from specified cameras on particular monitors in case of emergencies. We have successfully implemented all of these modules, leveraging our extensive experience in software development for security systems to create software that is user-friendly, practical, and aligned with current trends and functionalities.
