CrystalBridge platform development and maintenance

SNP Group SE

Since 2017, over 20 specialists in React, Java, and NestJS from All for One Software House have been engaged in developing the CrystalBridge data transformation platform, which is the flagship product of SNP, a leading global provider of SAP transformation solutions. The project has utilized Scrum methodology from the outset. In response to the growing demand for specialists in Poland, new self-organizing teams were formed that include programmers (primarily in React, Java, and NestJS), software architects, testers, DevOps engineers, UI/UX designers, and Scrum Masters. Automating processes was a key priority, which was achieved through the implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Our DevOps engineers introduced broader enhancements, including automated application builds, deployments, and containerization. Significant improvements were also made in the software development process, particularly regarding Code Review procedures and notifications related to Pull Requests. The quality of the products delivered was further enhanced by involving software testers, documenting test scenarios in Zephyr (a Jira extension), and implementing automated system tests using tools like Selenium. Since the inception of the CrystalBridge product, we have made several architectural modifications, focusing primarily on modularizing the system and isolating the developed components. By adopting a microservice architecture, we were able to horizontally scale the platform, incrementally update software modules, and expand the team with minimal impact on the overall system. This strategy also facilitates updates to the technology stack and harmonization of the libraries and frameworks used, both on the backend (Java vs. Node.js) and the frontend (Angular/React, JavaScript/TypeScript).
